FAQs About Birth Photography
As birth photography continues to gain popularity, many expecting parents have questions about what it entails, how it works, and why it's worth considering. In this blog post, I'll address the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) about birth photography, providing you with valuable insights into this unique and rewarding experience.
3. When should I book a birth photographer? It's best to book your birth photographer as early as possible. This ensures that I have availability for your due date and allows time for consultations and planning. Although, It’s never “too late” to hire a birth photographer. I once booked a client at 38 weeks and attended her birth the very next day.
4. How does the process work? Before the birth, you'll have a consultation with me to discuss your preferences, birth plan, and any specific moments you want to capture. When you go into labor, you'll notify me. I'll then join you at the birth location and document the entire experience, from labor to delivery and the immediate postpartum period.
7. Can I have specific shots or moments captured? Absolutely! We will discuss your preferences during the consultation and I’ll do my best to accommodate your wishes. Whether it's the first moment you hold your baby, the reactions of family members, or special rituals, I will strive to capture it all.
8. What if I'm not comfortable with certain images being shared publicly? Privacy and consent are paramount in birth photography. We will discuss your privacy preferences in advance and ensure that only images you're comfortable with are shared publicly, if at all.
